What is the best way to achieve this type of notation in Finale? Here is an excerpt from a Sciarrino piece. I've tried the TG Tools plugin "easy tremolo". Perhaps thats the best way, unless there's a graphic elsewhere that can be resized. Once easy tremolo is applied I found it clumsy to fine tune the spacing or angle of the lines. Is there a method to do that?

To be correct, this is tremolo notation, not trill notation.
To adjust the angle:
Special Tools Tool > Beam Angle Tool
As the Message Bar says:
Drag left handle to stretch all stems; right handle to change beam angle

Indeed it is, but in tes case of the Sciarrino example it's an effect called multiphonic trill...perhaps misnamed. I wondered the same thing.Peter Thomsen wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 12:51 pmTo be correct, this is tremolo notation, not trill notation.

The Beam Angle tool works for angling and moving the beams but doesn't adjust the length. I found one Special Tool (Beam Extension Tool) that almost works but it will only shorten the top beam leaving the bottom one(s) as they were. If there is a way to adjust the length of all the beams?

With the Beam Extension Tool, double-click the handle and you can choose which beams are adjusted.

The full (paid) version of TG Tools has many more tremolo options when compared to the free version that comes with Finale, including the ability to position the beams at a predetermined distance from the stems. It might be worth taking a look at the free 30 day demo. The align feature for dynamics alone is worth the cost of the plugin.MowingDevil wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 2:27 pmThe Beam Angle tool works for angling and moving the beams but doesn't adjust the length. It is, but the Pro version has more options and runs in the background, so all you have to do is press hotkeys to get the align actions.

This is good to know. I previously visited their site and it looked so out of date I wasn't sure if they were even in business. I'll revisit it.N Grossingink wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 6:43 pmThe full (paid) version of TG Tools has many more tremolo options when compared to the free version that comes with Finale, including the ability to position the beams at a predetermined distance from the stems.
