How to put the accidental after a cleff ...
Isn't that an "on purpose"?

That's a key signature.

After briefly checking both the Key Signature Tool and Document Options > Key Signatures I don't see any obvious way to do what you want, but I'm sure it's possible (if unusual) via some work-around.

And I now see a simple way round it is described by N Grossingink below.

I suspect the questioner's native language is not English, so give him a little leeway as regards terminology.

To answer the question, make a Text Expression - "( )" and drag it into place.

I think "accidental" can mean "sharp, flat, or natural symbol" even if in the key signature, e.g. "cautionary accidental."

You can change the flat symbol in the Key Signatures options to a parenthesized one, but it's smaller in the Maestro font. But perhaps there's another font.

With the expression solution, tf you've got many of these to do, rather than dragging it into place, you can set its positioning in the definition so that you can just click it in with a metatool.

This seems close. The expression is ( ) with two spaces between, Maestro 24 pt.

Yes, that's it. Right Know I understand what to do to put sharps in the parentheses.
Thank you mister Maestro.

I remember years ago when we were still doing everything by hand, I saw a lot of arrangers and copyists that would add a large right-hand bracket after the key signature to make sure people didn't confuse the elements of the key signature with accidentals on individual notes. I haven't seen it done that way in a long time, though.

Not to be disrespectful to anyone but I know of no musical reason for doing that. Although it is an easy thing to do in Finale. In 7 plus decades I have never seen it but I know that is meaningless.

Curious in the example parentheses are around the key sig and not on the actual Bb accidental? Again proves Finale can do almost anything if you just know how.

I don't see an unparenthesized B-flat in the first example.

I agree it's an unusual request, but perhaps this is for some pedagogical use--I don't know. I just try to answer the person's request and don't usually question their motives.

Totally in step with you. I am just curious as to why. It would be a simple thing to do with Finale as we know.
I forwarded this post to a few of the music departments at some universities I am associated with to see if they can offer anything.
