Hi,

I’m struggling writing a script that changes the accidental of a selected region to another one (in my workflow this would be from a natural accidental to a microtonal one) and changes the midi pitch wheel value related to this accidental. I can write a script that pick's the new accidental from the slots 1-255 but the problem is that I’m using a unicode music font with over thousand characters and can’t figure out how to choose symbols with unicode names (or with slot numbers greater than 255).

I have very little experience in coding and this feels a bit difficult to achieve as my first proper script. For someone who can actually use JW Lua this might be pretty simple.

This could be one way of simplifying microtonal writing and the music – at least monophonic instruments – would playback as it is notated.

Any help or ideas? Thanks!

There's a JW Lua email list you can join from Jari's website. I've asked questions there and found people helpful (including <elbsound>).

Thanks, I'll check those out. I actually got the accidental part working but still can't figure out how to change the pitch wheel values.

We've set up a JW Lua specific Facebook group a while back. There's usually more activity here than on the email list, and pretty much everyone on the email list is in the Facebook group.
