I'm curious...

Has anyone ever created a font with the 22ma character in it that would match up with the 8va and 15ma characters?

I can create a custom line with the Maestro Times font that gets fairly close but it's not quite an exact match.

...not that I normally use 22ma, but I was curious if there's a font with that character floating around in the universe somewhere. For either Meastro, Engraver or Petrucci.

It's in the Bravura music font, which should be available as a free download:

There's probably a good reason it's not generally available in most music fonts. Seems pretty much useless to me.

According to the table in the link 22ma is shorthand for
ventiduesima
- right?

Perhaps it might have a use in cues if one doesn't want to change clef?

In cues I don't think the difference between 8va alta, 15ma alta and 22ma alta etc. matters. Tell the musician that the cue is in 'any' octave above, or below what is written - 8va alta or bassa.

Also, according to Gould, don't write octave transposing instruments like the Double Bass in sounding pitch, but in written pitch.

A dog whistle is something completely different though.

Yes, having Leger Lines in Bass Clar Cues is way too cumbersome.,
written pitches are better.
Also, I doubt I could transpose most Music UP 3 Octaves on my Clarinet, at sight or otherwise...!!!
