Further to earlier post regarding noteheads/size....after years of using Finale I've only just looked at the engraver font. Seems to be much closer to published score fonts, and slightly bigger and more rounded. Anyone any thoughts on these fonts?

I prefer the Engraver flags, as well as the notehead size. However, it lacks some standard symbols found in Maestro, instead having lots of LV tie characters.

Take a look at "Maestro Wide", included with Finale.

Yes, sometimes use the wide Maestro...will print a page with the different fonts to see which looks better

For comparing music fonts, take a good look at this web page:

For noteheads, I personally use slightly larger Maestro font. Though in general, I use Maestro and Engraver about 50/50.

Engraver has a few odd symbols that are somewhat ugly. For instance, the vertical stroke on the flat (when placed on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd lines) touches the staff line a 5th above. On most fonts, the vertical stroke ends sooner, showing a little daylight. The parenthesized accidentals have too curvy parens making the whole symbol wider than need be. Parenthesized accidentals are usually a bit smaller at the premier publishers.

The Engraver noteheads, rests and flags are very nicely done.
