I am using Finale 25.5.0.259 in MacOS 10.13.6
I would like any piece to open at the measure where I left off. Can that be done?

No, not directly. If you make a Bookmark before you close the file, when you open it again you'll have to access the bookmark in the View menu. Not what you want but close.
