How can I change, for a few measures, a regular 5-line vocal staff to a 1-line staff for rhythmic narration?

Select those measures and apply a 1-line staff style.

You can probably just select the measures with the Staff Tool and type L.

You could also keep the 5 line staff and put the narration on the 3rd space using X noteheads. Many publishers prefer that.
