I have made a 12/8 measure. But I can't figure out
how to get each group of three eighths to have a beam,
using the Time Signature Tool. The eighths are appearing
w/o beams, just individual eighth notes. Unfortunately I was not
able to attach the file for some reason. Hoping you can
advise.

In the Time Signature tool, define the 12/8 as 4 dotted quarter notes.
For already entered notes, use the Rebeam to Time Signature command in the Utilities menu.
