Tremolo bug

Mark Carlson's question led me to discover that if you check "create playback notes" when creating a tremolo, it hides the accidental on the second note, if present. It must be because the accidentals on the playback notes in layer 4 affect layer 1, even though the layer 4 notes are hidden. (One can, of course, manually force the accidental to appear).

Has the plug-in always been that way?

In general, do accidentals on hidden notes affect visible notes? It seems like if something is hidden, it shouldn't affect what's visible.

I believe it has always behaved that way. Try selecting "Hide Layer When Inactive" for Layer 4 in Document Options/Layers. Of course, that won't be of help if you need Layer 4 elsewhere where it needs to show. Otherwise, manually show the accidentals as you have already done. You mentioned the Eb, but the C# also doesn't show.

I've noticed they disappear during Playback, but are there for Printing.

That works--thanks! Though if one has cues in layer 4, then that option may be undesirable. There's also the staff attribute "redisplay accidentals in other layers within measures," but that, too could cause trouble in certain situations.
