Is there a way to remove the time signature from measure 1? See attached.

De-selecting (in the Staff Attributes) the Time Signature from display will hide all time signatures in the staff - in all the measures in the entire document.

To hide the time signature in the first measure only (and display time signatures in other measures) you can instead
- use the Measure Attributes (Measure Tool, double-click the measure); this will hide the time signature in the entire Measure Stack (= in all the staves),
or
- in only the first measure use a custom staff style to hide the time signature.

Fine observation - thank you for that.
