Greetings all!

I seem to have pressed some wrong keys 2 days ago and now every document is showing [Group 1] even when I remove the tick against ‘Show group name’ in Group Attributes.

I have discovered that the only way to get rid of [Group 1] is to type anything in the group name box and leave the ‘Show group name’ unticked. That does it, but there must be a better way of getting rid of [Group 1]. Needless to say, I have tried re-doing my groups but that makes no difference.

I’m sure someone will be able to point me in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance

Try this:

Staff Tool.
Staff menu > Show Default Group Names (de-select it)
Mac OS X 12.6.9 (Monterey), Finale user since 1996

Thanks Peter - you've restored my sanity! All sorted now. Such a simple solution, but I couldn't find it!

And to Perotinus - yes, I'd seen the discussion you highlighted, but I hadn't realised it related to my question!
