I'd like to find out if anyone here is bothered by the spelling between meas.7-8. The main key of this piece is Eb. There is a clear key change in meas.8 into Eb. (I should first mention that I prefer, in meas.4, the indicated spelling rather than Gb minor because - for me - it's easier to read.) Back to meas.7: The upper dyad should look like meas.6. The key in meas.8 is Eb. Problem is, if meas.7 shows D# and meas. 8 shows Eb, then the ties look out of place, sorta. And that's on this test copy. On the original score, the part of the tie in meas.8 disappears when meas.7 is written as D#, and only the part of the tie appears in meas.7 but not in meas.8. It won't allow a tie between D# and Eb. Any ideas on this?

Personally I am not bothered by the spelling in measure 7.

However, I would add cautionary accidentals on E♭, to avoid that some performers read E♮.

Is there a shortcut to adding cautionary accidentals other than creating parentheses separately and putting them around the accidentals?

In Speedy the shortcut to the cautionary accidental is to select the note and type P. I don't know anything about Simple.

Adding: I see the shortcut is there in the Simple menu.

In Simple the keystroke is also "P". This is pretty basic knowledge of the software - things like this are in the user manual and are readily referenced on one's own.
