Hi,
This doesn't have anything to do with Finale but I thought forum members might know the answer.
What is the correct way of spelling flat and sharp notes in the scientific pitch notation system? For example, is it C4# or C#4 or something else?
Is there an "official" or reference document that discusses this?
Thanks.

C#4 makes sense. C4# doesn't.

Hi N. Gorssingink,
I hadn't looked at it from this angle ("make sense or not") and it kind of clicked! Though I don't know whether "make sense" means the same to you as it does to me, I agree with you. Thanks. I would consider the note as a unit, to which the register is appended. But I could understand if someone argues that C4 could be the note and is then altered with #. Though I feel the note and the accidental belong together.
Now if there is any official documentation about this notation, please advise, anyone.
