The last Finale update removed Perfect Layout plug-in. Jan Angermüller from Elbsound.studio got me up and going again. The previous update to Finale 26 did not do that. Just a heads up!

I'm guessing the update overwrote the plugin. If you move the plugin to the desktop, then install the update, then move the plugin back - that might be the thing to do.

Does the latest update replace what it's updating? Normally new Finale installs go in a new directory. Maybe PL just needed to be copied there?

If it did update in place, it sounds like it wipes the slate clean first, which is pretty bad. It seems like this would apply to JW, TG, and other custom plug-ins, as well.

Jan told me the easiest way to get it back was to uninstall and reinstall it. He had seen a similar situation but not exactly what I saw.

About TG and JW they are embraced by MM and PL is not. PL should also be included with Finale.

strange.
I updated to the latest version this week, and my PL plugin is still there, and still functioning. (I just just opened it and tried it, and yes, it is still working perfectly - no pun intended - ok, maybe a tiny one)
User of Finale since version 3.0 on Windows.
Now using a mix of Finale 2012, Finale 25, and 26.1
GPO, Garritan Solo Stradivari violin, Gofriller Solo Cello.
XSamples Chamber Ensemble.
Absolute convert to NotePerformer3.

I don't try to explain'em, I just report'em. Jan did say he noticed a glitch in his, too. It didn't remove it though like mine did.

I wonder if the Windows version might make a difference?
I'm using Windows 8.1

We should see if anyone else with either version of Windows has the same problem.
It could be something unique to Win 10?

I have heard a lot about the «Perfect Layout» plug-in, and searched for it many times, but obviously there is something here I am missingout here. I am not able to find it anywhere.
