I want to make a bracket on the left side of a chord, in other words, a vertical line with hooks at both ends that point towards the chord. I cannot figure out how to do it. I've tried creating a smart shape and making sure that "make horizontal by default" is unchecked, but no matter how hard I try, the line always turns out to be horizontal.

I know it's possible, but I sure can't figure it out!

Can someone help me out, please?

Thanks,

Mark

Smart shape. Edit the line with 2 hooks and uncheck horizontal.
In the score, hold shift (to keep the line vertical), double click and drag.

Thank you, michelp!

I didn't see that I had to open a separate editing window. No wonder I was having trouble!
