I've assigned SHIFT+CTRL+T to select the Staff tool with the TG Tools-->Menu Shortcuts plugin. When I use the shortcut, it does select the Staff tool but it also brings up the New Blank Staves window. I've tried changing the shortcut to SHIFT+CTRL+J and it does the same thing.

Is this a bug?

Obviously, the CTRL key is the problem. Using a hotkey without CTRL will make it work.

Thanks, but why is that obvious?

Just wanted to emphasize that neither the shift key nor the chosen letter key are part of the problem. Only using the Ctrl key leads to the unwanted opening of the dialog. So for me, it's obvious that the Ctrl key is the culprit.

Okay, thank you. Anyone have any idea if this is intended or if it's a bug? All my tool shortcuts are SHIFT+CTRL and it'd be nice to keep them consistent.

This plugin was developed by Tobias Giesen of TG Tools. You might want to contact him directly for an answer to your concerns. I can tell you that the Macintosh versions of his plugins are not 100% functional with the current Finale versions. There are lots of little glitches. I'm guessing the pace of his development has not kept pace with Finale. We may have to settle on working around the few problems that exist.

I've had problems assigning keyboard shortcuts to FinaleScript macros as well--certain keys are not cleared and live on after the macro is invoked, so it might be a Finale problem rather tha TGTools.
