Hi, can anyone help?

I have got Keyswitches to work providing the instrument/staff name is on the HB preferences dropdown list. Unfortunately the instrument I want to use is a Kontakt viol da gamba on a staff of the same name. I tried to use the dropdown "any" and dropdown filter "contains text" but no luck.
eg Keyswitches work with Kontakt VSL Viola, technique 'pizz.' (and ks=29) but if I change the staff name, no luck.
I tried setting instrument set to "any", and set the filter to "for text expressions containing" = pizz. but nothing happens.
Under Garritan in HB prefs I have tried with Kontakt pref on and off.

If all else fails, you can trigger keyswitches with expressions using the data dump feature.

This page gives the easiest instruction for Keyswitches via the Expression Tool. It is discussing Garritan instruments, but it should work for other samples, I believe.

Well I've been at it a while but I can only get it to half work. It plays the correct Keyswitches (having figured out what numbers are required), but once the key is played it stays down, even in non-latch. Seems there is no note-off to follow the note-on. Perhaps that's what the mean by "only works with Garritan". Hopefully I'm missing something blindingly obvious, how hard is this stuff meant to be!

Did you create a matching expression with 0 in the second box? That's the way I do it, as I recall.

But that only leaves you with one box for note number and velocity

I guess I don't know the numbers needed for Kontakt VSL instruments. What did you enter in the 3 slots? Also, you entered 3 in the top box first, correct?

144 top, 00 or 05 second and 127 third (or hex equivalents). Yes 3 elements
