I'm sure the reason I can't find an answer for this is that I'm using the wrong words.
Elaine Gould in her notation book "Behind Bars" calls it "double stemmed beams" on pg. 307. Essentially, it's an inner part moving between staves.
For example, the right hand thumb will reach down and play a note from a part with mainly LH notes/pattern.
What would you call that in Finale and how would you do it? I've done it with brackets before, but that looks pretty rough.
Thanks.
