Greetings all!
I’m sure there must be a simple answer to this question… I want to beam together all 5 quavers in a passage of 5/8 time signature. Finale allows groupings of 2+3 and 3+2. I’ve checked the various options in the time signature dialogue box but found nothing to help.
In the end, I set the passage in 2/4 and used quintuplets in every bar! A ‘work around’ but I’d like to know if there’s a better way.
Many thanks

Andreo Basisto,
If I understand you correctly, you just need to change the beaming, not the time signature, right?
And I suppose that there are also passages where you actually need the default beaming (= 2+3 or 3+2), perhaps because the rhythm includes 16th notes, right?
Anyway you can rebeam a selected region with the utility:
Utilities menu > Rebeam > Rebeam to Time Signature…

Greetings Peter!
MANY thanks for a very quick reply. And of course your solution works! That’s not one I could have worked out. I see now that it’s a simple case of using a half plus an eighth. Yes – easy when you know how!
Many thanks again
