Remove staff names across score page breaks?
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
I'm scratching my head as to why I can't find the utility, plugin, or option to remove staff names on right hand pages (recto) of a score. What'm I missing?

I do not know of an “automatic” solution.
You can do it on a case-by-case basis via a custom staff style.

I saw that same answer in a 2011 post.

I think (but could be wrong) I have seen this in some of the older editions if the system layout remains the same either throughout or at least for a number of pages and usually also with one system to a page (if more than one, only the top system on the left-hand page would have the names). I may even have some examples on my shelves, although I can't immediately lay my hands on them.

I may well be wrong.
I guess the easiest way would be to apply a staff style to the first measure of each such page. If you're piece is not long that may be practical. You'd have to do it when you're sure there's to be no more flowing of measures across systems.

Doesn't work on group names, so one of those maddening Finale things that just never gets fixed; by now this should be automatic. As it is, I have to tweak every page of every score and part in a vector program and this is one of those things I have to tweak. (On the plus side, my audio files from Finale are quite good - though again, I mix in a 'vector' program, a d.a.w., but who doesn't?) </rant>
