The first note in a coda system needs a tie pointing backward (i.e. to the left). In the measure before the coda system there is a rest.

When try I put a tie to the first coda note with "Shift+T" it does not work for me (because of the rest, I suppose. But even if there was a note, the tie would appear on that not - which is wrong, of course).

So I use the "Tie Tool" from the "Special Tool" palette and drag the tie manually to the desired position. Okay. BUT: It is a Big Band Score with this issue for all instruments. Whe I edit the filter options and check everything except notes this very tie cannot be copied.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to manually adjust all ties? Is there another, easier way to notat a "backward" tie?

Greetings,

Jock

Selecting "Tie alterations" in the copy filter works for me. If it's not working for you, don't know why.

Another alternative would be to make an expression or articulation. One of the fonts has a tie character, but I forget which.

Engraver font, codes 73 and 105. But try to make the filter work first.

Thanks, but it does not work for me - "Tie alterations" WAS checked. And, just in case, I used "Update Layout"...

Tried to edit the filter and check Tie alterations only - still no success.Neither copy+paste nor dragging works.

Strange: If I DISABLE the filter, copy+paste as well as dragging works if I select the whole measure.(But that changes the pitch.)
But when I partially select a measure it does not work.

Here is a sample file, maybe someone can point me to a solution?

Greetings,

Jock

Put a (forward) tie on the second trumpet first. I'm not sure why selecting "smart shapes applied to notes" in the copy filter doesn't copy the tie.
