Hello,
I am currently trying to create a cadenza in my music. The notes do not (without overlapping) fit on one line. I am trying to put half of the measure on one line and half on the next line but cannot figure out how (after trying google and searching this forum). Thank you in advance for any help you may provide!
Thank you!

The Split Measure plugin does what you could also do manually, to have more control. If you count how many beats you need for one system you can make that the time signature for that section, and then for the following section the same procedure. After that, go to Measure Tool and for both measures choose > Time Signatures > Always hide. In the second measure (following measures) deselect "include in measure numbering".
Lastly, for the first part of the 'split' measure, in Measure Tool, choose (right) barline: invisible.

Well, if wanting to change the system breaks, I guess. Otherwise just a matter of personal preference.

I believe that doing it without the plugin might be easier as you don't need to create one large measure and split it. Instead, you create 2 measures, each with the needed TS and then do the barline and measure counting modifications. The plugin sometimes is more trouble for these kind of situations (cadenzas). For simple matters, like moving a pickup to the next system, the plugin is a good tool. But it is not necessarily the best tool for measures needing a larger number of beats, as in a cadenza.
I often create a larger TS than needed, then use the JW Meter and Rhythm plugin to finish the job. Using the Split Measurre plugin would not be a usable option in that case.

Zuill spelled it out for me. And, let's say you have a cadenza of 23x4 quarters - there's no way you could do that in one measure in one staff system and then split the measure.
