Lately, I'm writing a lot of music for Ukulele and frequently have a situation where the same pitch is played on two different strings. I write in Speedy entry and have been using the approach of playing the chord with a "wrong" note and then dragging it into the correct position with the mouse. For example in the image below, one of the Gs was entered as an A and then dragged down. Is there a better or faster way to do this? Thanks!

I would enter F## and type 9 for enharmonic spelling.

Thanks, Bill. That also works, but I'm not sure it's any faster since you still have to position the cursor.
I may be that I'm looking for something that doesn't exist, but thought I'd check. I know the Special Tools has a double-stem function. I was wondering if there was any sort of double-notehead function.

Yes you position the cursor, but you don't need to use the mouse. Here's what I would do.
Enter the G
Left arrow so the cursor is on the G
Down arrow so the cursor is on the F
F##
9
I timed it -- well under a minute.

How are you entering the F## in Speedy entry? I can enter an F# then put the cursor on the note and click the + key but it's all about the same amount of time it takes to click and drag the "wrong" note. I was just wondering if there was a better way.

I should have been clearer on that in what I sent.
After the cursor is on the F, then in this case 5 for a quarter note and ++ for ##. After that and 9 there is no click and drag.

In Simple Entry, enter the D. Then press 4 then 1 then 3 and you'll get the chord you want.

P.S.: I'm am now guessing that you are using a MIDI keyboard to enter the chord. In that case, maybe you are looking for a way to stay in Speedy Entry to add the extra G. I don't recall the method.

within Speedy entry, with MIDI keyboard: enter wrong note (F or F#), using arrows go to that note, then press + to make a double sharp, then 9 to rewrite it enharmonically.

Yeah, that seems to be the quickest approach. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!Michel R E wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 1:48 amwithin Speedy entry, with MIDI keyboard: enter wrong note (F or F#), using arrows go to that note, then press + to make a double sharp, then 9 to rewrite it enharmonically.
