Is there a free basic reader for finale documents? I have a piano student who just needs to read and listen to a finale document.

There's Finale Notepad but I don't know how well it's kept up. One can also export Music-XML and read with anything that can read XML.

NotePad is Windows only. If your student has Windows, fine. If a Mac, you’re out of luck, I’m afraid. They have shown no interest in reviving the entry level programs.
