Tablature problems

I did a couple lines of standard notation that I copied and pasted into the guitar tab part. For both I indicated the lowest fret should be 7. You can see it worked on the first line, but when I did the second copy/paste the fret numbers were totally off (and curiously looked greyed out/yellowed out). How do I fix this?

Something is definitely wrong.
The culprit could be 1) program specific or 2) document specific.
Re 1), take a look in
Preferences - Edit
- and make sure that the option
Respect Instrument Ranges when Copying or Changing Instruments
is de-selected.

I think the second staff is an octave too low. It's hard to see on what you posted, but I reckon the numbers have a minus in front of them so for instance the C is 4 frets below the E and the D is 2 frets below. Try selecting a few funky measures and transpose up an octave and see what happens. Here's why that happens -- I don't know.
