Quick Staff Creation

Hi Folks,
I found this discussion with Jari but the thread never concluded:

Does anyone have a time-efficient workaround to create staffs? I'm thinking in the direction of creating blank staff and then applying staff-styles for instrument-specifics.
I'd be very thankful for someone to share a Lua script or any other hint.
