I remember it was possible to copy (e.g. a couple of measures ) from a file open in 2014 and paste it to one in 2014.5 or vv. It didn't work this time, do I remember it wrong?

(Accidentally posted this in Printmusic first, sorry!)

Not sure if that is doable. Why not just open both files in 2014.5 and copy/paste there? Makes sense to me.

Thank you! That is what I'm doing at the moment. I just wondered if I had started acquiring false memories. :)

I remember enjoying the practicality of both files open at the same time. Probably I'm confusing with working in Notion.

You can have both Finale documents open at the same time - in the same Finale version.
Then you can copy from one document to the other.

However, if two Finale versions are open at the same time, then the two Finale versions do not share “music clipboard”.
Music that is copied into one version’s “music clipboard”, is not automatically copied into the other version’s “music clipboard”.

NB: Finale’s “music clipboard” is not the same as the operating system’s “general clipboard“.
In the “music clipboard” (Finale) you can copy music.
In the “general clipboard” (operating system, which supports word processors, graphics programs &c.) you can copy text, graphics, &c.

Thank a lot for the information!

Meanwhile, I checked to see if it was actually a totally false memory...and no, it wasn't! Although it has a long list of things it can't do that Finale can do, two or more instances of a single edition of Notion can be opened simultaneously and one can copy-paste among them.
