All my MIDI files import in as a blank file except for key signature. (and maybe time signature also) The files are all good on my DAW. (also if I get any random MIDI file from the net) Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

Mike

Check the MIDI import options, I guess. If you want to post one of your MIDI files here, we could try it.

I have no experience with importing MIDI. I tried importing this, which I found at kunstderfuga.com, which is supposed to be the first of Bach's Two-Part Inventions. At least it created something!

Here's what people generally suggest to try regarding MIDI problems: recreate FINMIDI.INI.
Quit Finale, then look in C:\Users\(your login)\AppData\Roaming\MakeMusic\Finale whatever(or wherever this is on a Mac, I don't know)
Rename FINMIDI.INI to something else and relaunch Finale, which will recreate a new FINMIDI.INI file upon opening. If this doesn't change anything for the better, you can put the old one back. It might be as simple as that. Or not.

There are selectable options when importing MIDI files. Quantization settings are one changeable option. Once imported, one can also change the quantization nd retranscribe. There are other options as well, for selecting and naming staves, and more.

FINMIDI.INI only contains information for sending and receiving MIDI events, but it contains no settings for importing or transcribing MIDI files.
Probably, the problem are the settings in the MIDI file import dialog.
