Has anyone had any problems running Finale in Windows 10, version 2004? I had a bad experience a few years ago upgrading from Win 7 to Win 10 and don't want to go through that again.
Thanks for your help.

Nothing to do with Finale, but I have heard that there were problems with 2004 and the August monthly rollout. I don't know if that has been fixed. I am not eager to "upgrade" as I just moved from 7 to 10 in April, and am still getting to know how to work around the differences, especially as to how it works with Finale.

Thank you for your reply. I read about those problems, too.

I keep Windows 10 up to date and haven't had a problem, except for some playback oddities with Finale 2014.5 that I've complained about here but have been able to work around. I've got Finale 2005b still installed and use it occasionally to fix a wrong note, and it seems to basically work.

I do the updates, regularly. The 2004 still shows up as optional, so I am waiting. When did you update to the 2004 version? Did you suffer the August rollout issues being reported?

It has not suggested I install that yet. Sorry--I completely misunderstood the question. I thought the O.P. was asking if there was a problem running Finale 2004 on Windows 10.

I think their might still be confusion here. The question is not about Finale 2004, but the new optional Windows 10 version called 2004. It is offered as an optional upgrade, but I think they still have issues with it, so I am waiting until they force me to upgrade.

I read Finale 2005b somewhere.

That was me in my confused state.

That MM link doesn't really address backward compatibility, but so far I haven't had a problem running old versions.
