Add measure numbers on the fly

hi there. I have a long piece with 50 separate movements that I want to have numbered starting with 1. Is there a way to select the measures I want and then add a range without accessing the measure number tool and manually adding each range. (This is tedious because I have to find out the start and stop measure for each range. I'm willing to do this but wanted to know if there was a plugin or something first) Thanks!
