I have a .bak file that I want to open, but Finale doesn't open it saying "invalid file type". I tried to rename the extension to .bakx, .mus, musx, but it keeps giving me the message "invalid file type". How can I do? Thanks a lot.

Can you post the file here, so we can try?

Ehm....hehehehhh.....
.....just found out that I'm an idiot. I tried with all the .bak files in that folder but Finale didn't even open one. I thought they were .bak files that I had moved. Then instead I went to look in the default folder where Finale puts the .bak files, and those present would open them all. Then I realized that the .bak files that I could not open were not of Finale, but of Cubase. Unfortunately, the icon for opening .bak files is only one, so I got confused. :D
