Tablature - How do I move open string notes to other frets?

When copying guitar music to a tablature staff, all notes that can be played as open are always written as 0. But what if I need to play the E1 pitch on the B-string 5th fret since I also press the A on the E1 string 5th fret? How do I solve this in the tablature staff, so that the player understands that he shall put his finger on the B string 5th fret and not play it as open?

One way: in Simple Entry, select the 0 on the E string and press the down arrow.

I don't understand. With simple entry tool and clicking in the staff all numbers become notes. The cursor then looks like a 1/2 or 1/1 rest. If I press the down arrow all that happens is that the cursor moves one step down.

My mistake, I had Speedy Entry selected. :P Now I know how to do it. Thanks Zuill! :)

For some reason now, when using the simple entry tool, instead of selecting the note it adds a note (i.e. number) in the TAB. On the other hand I can just drag the existing number to the desired string instead. 😮

To select a note, hold Ctrl while selecting with the mouse. I'm not sure if that answers the problem you're describing.

That works! 👍

Was that the way I did it before? I can't remember...

It works with the arrow keys too. I shouldn't have been able to do it without the CTRL key earlier. Strange!
