Different graphic for each part

I've got a brass quintet score and I would like to have a different graphic header on page 1 of each part. I see two solutions

1. Put the trumpet 1 graphic on the trumpet 1 part, print it, go to trumpet 2 (which now has the trumpet 1 graphic at the top of the page), delete the trumpet 1 graphic, insert the trumpet 2 graphic, print and repeat for horn, trombone and tuba. This is what I have been doing.

2. Extract parts and put the appropriate graphic on each part

Unless I miss something #1 is really cumbersome and #2 means parts aren't linked anymore (unless I make changes in the score, extract parts again and add appropriate graphics again.)

Is there an elegant solution to this?

I don't know if this will work as well for graphics, but it does for other items. You can have a graphic unlinked from the score, and then move it off the page in the score and all the other parts. Do the same for each part/graphic. It will only show on the part where you haven't moved it off the page. Cumbersome, but you keep the linked parts.

Instead of moving off the page, you can also uncheck Show by right-clicking.

I have used that approach as well, with other items (text, for example). However, with many parts, I would imagine that there might be some clutter. Generally I have things set to show hidden objects slightly to be aware of where they are. I have not hidden graphics, so I don't know how that would appear. I suppose I should test that.

P.S.: In the test I just did, hiding seems to work. In the graphic I hid, a black border still shows, but doesn't print. If many of those boxes piling on one another is okay, then do that. If not, drag them off the page.

If you're in the Graphics tool on, there's a box. Otherwise, I don't know (I have hidden object shading set to 0).

Create a shape expression which contains the graphic. This way, you have full control over its appearance and its placement in the score or in different parts. You might create individual shape expressions for every part, which show only in the part, but not in the score.

In the shape designer dialog, click on the multi-colored graphics symbol on the right to insert a graphic:
