I have Finale 25 on a Mac and have extracted and merged the vocal parts out of a full orchestral score. However I want to copy the title and paste it into this new score using the text tool - but it won’t stay. I paste it in and then it disappears. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum!

Attach your Finale .musx document here, and the gurus will probably find the culprit when they examine the document.

Many thanks.
Forgot to mention – and this may be pertinent, that the original full score was sent to me by somebody else who has an old Finale 2007 version. This may be the problem – but I’ve never had any problems in the past when receiving music from him.
I also can’t access the special tools so can’t move some of the stems.

Attaching both the original fullscore from my friend and the merged score I've made - which you'll see has no title!

(I'm now wondering whether I made the merged score correctly.. All will be revealed no doubt!)

Thanks for any help.
Debbie

debo452,

If I understand you correctly, you paste text into a text block - right?
And the text appears all right in the text block - right?
And then suddenly the text has disappeared - right?

Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce your problem.

For me, the text does not disappear.

See the attached Finale document.

I would strongly recommend to use the linked part feature. See this explanation: https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/Fin ... tting3.htm , especially the paragraph "Creating custom parts".

In your score, create a new linked part which consists of all choir voices and the bass part. All text blocks from the score will be carried over, so you won't need to create them new. Probably, this could avoid the text block problem at all.

See the attached Finale document. However you have solved my problem - many thanks. But I wonder why I couldn't paste into a text block which I've done many times before!
