I need to move the voice 2 note in the first example down to bass clef.
Fugue 16 m. 10 Orig..jpg
Used Note Mover tool to do so, then reverse stem tool to fix stem location. This created "artifacts" around the beams that I can not seem to edit.

Is this a bug?

npatton,

1) Yes, it is probably a bug, but you can avoid it - by flipping the stem of the entire beam group.
But:

2) Work smarter, not harder!
Instead of using the Note Mover Tool, use the Cross Staff plug-in.
Much faster, and the plug-in automatically makes the stem/beam location right:

If Layer 1 has already been entered, use
Document menu > Show Active Layer Only
to hide Layer 1.
Then, use the Selection Tool to drag-select the staff in the region/beats/notes you need to move.
Use the keyboard shortcut (I think it is Alt-DownArrow), and you do not even have to open the plug-in!

I'm not getting those artifacts. Maybe we need to see your file to examine what went wrong.

Thanks, everyone. I tried the suggested ideas, but got the same weird results. As I'm on a tight deadline for a client, and most layout and spacing issues are set, I went ahead and used the note mover and a bunch of special tools to rig a visual solution.

I inherited this project from another individual who has left the job. Upon closer inspection, I can see that the initial note entry must have had some weird customization that may have led to this new problem (noteheads not aligned properly with stems, which indicates he used Special Tools here, as well).

I think I have solved it for now. Thank you very much for jumping in with help!

Gratefully Yours,
Neil
