Notation Help
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
Hello,
I am working on a piece and I am using some of Debussy's Preludes as inspiration for different techniques. At the beginning of the piece I want to have a B major chord arpeggiated (rolled) alternating between the left hand and right-hand crossing over. And then ending on a G. I am having trouble rotating that.
Can someone show me how I would notate that or do it for me so I can see.
Here is the finale file.
Thanks
Dylan

Your description isn't much to go on. Can you provide a picture of what you want? Maybe draw it by hand and scan it so we can see what it should look like.

As Zuill wrote, a picture would be worth a thousand words, but you might be referring to what you can find in the manual as cross staff notes.

I think I know what you want, but don't write it as a "rolled chord".
Write a full arpeggio.
Make the notes slightly smaller than normal notes.
you will have some notes in the bottom staff, and some on the upper staff.
The reason is that if you write it as a "rolled chord" then the pianist will try to play it as rapidly as possible, and if there is more than one instance of hand-crossing it will be very clunky.

In my first measure, I have a time signature of 2/1. I want to have 16th notes playing alternating B Major chord going up the piano. But I want it to be rolling alternating from left hand to right hand and end on a G.
I tried to notate that with the speedy entry. I clicked on the measure and then pressed option 6 and then 3 to get all the rests. But when I clicked out of it the 16th rests went away.
