I have a song I’m working out that is way too long.

How can I make it take up less space by changing and decreasing the note values by half?

In other words, is there a simple way to make all the half notes into quarters, and eighth notes into sixteenth notes, etc., globally?

And in so doing end up with half as many measures?

Thanks for any assistance.

Ed

If anything, that's likely to make it take up more space.

Try the various spacing options, and perhaps load the "tight spacing" library in Document Options.

thankfuldawg,

You are talking about “decreasing”.

Do you mean layout (= space on the page) or playback (= duration)?

Select the region.
Utilities -> Change -> Note Durations : 50 %.

Peter, I mean decreasing the space on the page... so that 4 measures would become two measures.
