Stave Clashing

I'm having trouble in Finale where on my score a lot of the instruments qualities are clashing into other instrument's staves. Stuff like crescendos in the middle of a Trumpet staff, Bass Clarient notes below the staff on top of an Alto Sax staff, Flute notes above the staff on top of the Piccolo staff, or articulations appearing in the middle of staves. Is there a way to prevent this or a way to fix it?

In the Staff Tool, select the box at the top of the stave that's too close and drag down (or up). This can be done system by system, so take care that you select the stave on only that system and not globally, unless you do want a global change. You can also re-space staves via the Saff Tool Menu.

Finale includes a plugin called Vertical Collision Remover. I know it's not as comprehensive as Perfect Layout, by any means, but if it solves the immediate problem, it should at least be tried.

Worth a go for sure. I really think MM should include PL in Finale. The reason they don't is probably why most things never get done and that is money. Wanting too much on one side and not offering enough on the other.

However, I doubt JW or Patterson or TG Tools were given for free so MM does offer money. PL offers something that no other music notation software has or does. (at least as of 11/29/2020) Sibelius ? I don't know if Dorico supports plug-ins ?
