load graphics created outside of Finale into the expression selection menus?

Is there a way to load graphics created outside of Finale into the expression selection menus? I use graphics I created outside of Finale for shakuhachi gestures (mostly note endings or connections between notes). I’ve tried creating a library and importing it—but since the library wasn’t created in Finale, it doesn’t seem to work.

I’ve not been able to create the graphic gestures I need within Finale, despite many attempts. If possible, I’d like to get them into ‘technique text’ or ‘miscellaneous’, or even into articulations. Or create a new category. At present, I have to import them one by one, then resize them.

Also, is there a way to attach an imported graphic to a particular note? I only see options to attach them to a page, or to a bar.

Can you post a screenshot of the graphics you’re dealing with? What format are they?

I have png, jpg, and tif; I can redo them so they're all the same. I attached a screen shot with some of them labeled.It's a tiny screenshot, but anything bigger would'nt attach.

In the Shape Designer (for either expressions or articulations), you can incorporate external graphics.

Indeed, this works well. It's the most versatile way of placing graphics. Insert a picture into a shape and control its placement and behaviour like any other expression.
