showing staff in part, not in score SOLVED

I hope I can explain this clearly, here goes:
* Have a score, which for a page or two only has two instruments (have used hide empty staves for rest of orchestra)
* I'd like to give the other instruments the last 8 bars as a cue in their parts
* when I do this, the hidden staves for the other instruments show up in the score, which I don't want
Is there any way to do this without un-hiding all the instruments in the score for these 8 bars?

have entered the cues in parts
gone to score and used staff styles for score only
staff style is collapse
