I would like to create a rinforzando (rfz) marking. This should look like sfz but with an "r" instead of an "s." Finale is interpreting my "r" as the stem & flag of an eighth note. How do I get an "r"?
Thanks for your help!

I'm using Finale 26. I just opened up the default file, clicked on the expression tool, navigated to the dynamics, and in slot #19 is the "rfz" expression already made.
If you still need to create one, look in the character set for the Maestro font. You'll see the keystroke which creates the "r" when used as a dynamic.

Interesting, because in my Finale 26 (latest version for Mac) slot #19 is “subito p” & there is no “rfz” in sight.
Ah! I see. It is in the default file which uses Maestro font, but is not in one I set up myself using Engraver.

r is 142 in the Maestro font; to enter it in Windows you'd hold down Alt and type 0142 on the numeric pad. fz is a capital Z. To make rfz you could duplicate the fz expression and add the r to the front.
