Hi folks, hope to find some help here. Could not figure out for myself how to do it...
This comes from a Jazz Combo Score. The upper notes (layer 1) are a melody cue, the lower notes (layer 2) are optional backings. In the original notation the accidentals are placed near the corresponding notes in each layer, which makes them easy to read (this goes for 8 bars). In Finale 26 (Mac) I have no idea how to place the accidentals and/or notes the same way.

Document Options has a feature called Cross Layer Accidental Positioning. That will keep the accidental to the left of both notes. You can turn that off. If it is needed elsewhere in the score, then you can still override the accidental positioning with Special Tools. The layer 2 notes can also be moved with Special Tools. Because of the way Finale works, you'll also may have to manually force the appearance of the accidental for the Layer 2 notes that are unisons with layer 1.

Thanks so much - that did it! After un-checking the cross-layer option I could drag around the notes with their accidentals as I wanted. I used speedy entry for this.
