I am needing to include some short cues with lyrics that end in mid-word. The cues are appearing correctly except that a long series of hyphens continues for several bars until the next cue begins. I can't find any way to delete these unwanted hyphens. Any idea what I could do here? Thanks! (vs. 25)

One way is to not use a regular hyphen before the gap. Instead, use what's called a Hard Hyphen. Finale considers this as a regular character, like any other letter. That avoids the string of hyphens. To make it look somewhat normal, insert a Hard Space then a Hard Hyphen.

Keep in mind, though, that the hard hyphen is an en dash, not a hyphen-minus, and is longer. I set up a hyphen-minus as an expression for cases like this. You can stop a word extension either with a hard space, as Zuill suggests, or a hidden grace rest.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I'll give this a try!
