Why is it that Finale 27 shows as a version option in the Downloads section of the MakeMusic Store? Is there something I don't know? I don't see anything anywhere else in the MakeMusic website, including the blog.

I doubt it. I've been using v26 and the new articulation paradigm has many advantages. I know it messes things up if going back and forth with v25, but I haven't had that need. If I did have a client with that need, I would merely work in v25.

I would be happy if they just let me choose Stacked Alterations off by default, rather than on.
I don’t use them, I don’t need them, I don’t want them. But when I scan a score with, as an example, a four note chord with an accent, when the XML comes into Finale, I have four accents, nicely stacked. I know how to turn it off, but why should I have to?
And off-topic, but they should do the same with Automatic Part Numbering.

I very rarely stack two articulations, and when I do, it's not a big deal to do it manually.
Is it true there's a "stack" flag for each articulation definition that can be turned off? If you open an old file and tell it not to convert it, then go through each articulation and turn off that flag, will it behave as before?

When I duplicated each of 2 articulations in v26 and then saved and opened in v25. The duplicates disappeared and now only one articulation shows. Resaving and then opening in v26applied the stacking option to the v25 articulations. If there was a way to opt out of that, I think that would be good. It only asks about pre v26 placement, but that does not give proper control when it automatically adds the checkbox for stacking. As I recall, even adding a library without the stacking option deletes duplicates and reverts to the new stacking option. I'll have to check again on that. EDIT: Maybe not. I'll get back.

This is likely due to an inadvertent screwup on the team that maintains the ecommerce site (a separate team from the application team). Usually they make those updates for future products well in advance and hide them by setting a feature flag in the database, so that said products can be easily/quickly "unhidden" (without code changes) when needed.
In other words, someone (likely) forgot to run the database script to set that flag to "hide" the product.
