Is there a shortcut to position articulations below notes when they are on top by default?

In v25 I don't know of one. In the most recent version of v26, press the F key after entering an articulation to flip it.

Oh, that's a nice feature.

If you have a lot of them to do, you can make a duplicate articulation which positions them on the other side.

The F key shortcut is part of the new paradigm introduced in v26, but that is also part of the stacking paradigm, which does have its compatibility issues, as we've discussed.

As far as creating a duplicate, the JW Change does that for you. That is a quick and easy way if you have many to do. Once it creates the duplicate and swaps to that, it will continue to use that duplicate on other measures where the plugin is applied. In other words, it doesn't create a new duplicate for each application, but chooses the duplicate already created and swaps to that. Quite useful as a plugin.
