We can adjust the shape of piano braces, but I can't find any way to modify the wings of system brackets. There isn't a font character for the wings in Maestro, and there don't seem to be any Document Options.

Am I right?

This has been requested by some of us for over 20 years. I don't see it coming any time soon.

If you need something different, you can create an expression to do it. Tedious, maybe, but at least you have an option.

You can use third party font for adding wings.
The procedure does not require any special adjustments and takes only 10-15 sec. work per page using meta tools.
On the attached samples the wings are placed as (Expression tool) "text" elements, assigned (horizontally) to the left bar line and (vertically) to the staff reference line. On the screen they may look slightly off place, but looking at the PDF and when printing, they stay on the right position and IMO are very attractive.
For parts you'll need to delete them directly from the palette.

So, only a few seconds' work for every system, and I have to delete the expression before printing parts, and then remember to undo.

Truly, no workaround is too far!

Well, it depends on the method you apply for part extraction.
I always use to work with the so called extraction score — a copy of the original score.
In this case I delete the wings.
For the alternative method they can be hidden.

Wess, I mean to ask: the dropbox links shows lots of pretty pictures, but where can we buy your fonts?

I think I would live with the built-in wings. Few people are likely to notice.
