My product is Finale 2011. I want one TAB staff in standard tuning and another in Nashville tuning. When I change the frequency of the strings on the Nashville tuning TAB staff, the frequencies of the strings on the Standard tuning staff also change. I honestly cannot believe my eyes (and ears) and hope there is a simple fix for this! Please tell me if you know. If you have a different version of Finale and know how to do it in that version, let me know as well as it may also work for Finale 2011. BTW my operating system is Windows 2000 XP. It's ancient but is better than any other version of Windows that has come out since.

I tried to send you this file through the PM but it hasn't gone through. Look at this demo in Finale 2011. If this is what you want, I'll explain how to do it.

Yes, please explain. Better still, did you get my file from a couple weeks ago? If you can tell me why it doesn't work in my file but does in yours, that will probably be the answer I am looking for. If you didn't get it, go ahead and explain. Thank you.

I sent a revised file to you in a PM. Did you get it? It looks like it is still in my outbox. I've had this problem before with the PMs on this forum. I didn't want to attach it here on the open forum, but I can do that if you want. I was wondering if you got my PM. I sent it right away.

2011 is different than v26 (which has the Score Manager). Try this:

In 2011, in the Staff Tool, open Staff Attributes. For the staff needing the new Style, click Select next to notation Style: Tablature. Next to Standard Guitar (which is the default Guitar TAB style), click Edit Instrument. Don't actually edit the instrument yet. Instead, click Duplicate. The name now says Standard Guitar (copy). Rename that to Nashville Tuning. Then edit the string MIDI numbers. That staff is using the new TAB definition, but the other staff is still using the Standard Guitar definition. It's actually easy and takes less than 1 or 2 minutes.
