Trills with accidentals
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
I found a Finale file online that had this indication...and that's great...but I also need the sharp and natural varieties as well, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to access these.
When i double click on it, the Smart Shape palette is selected, but I can't seem to edit anything or access similar markings...what's more, the individual symbol (without the wavy line) are not to be found in my November2 font set (though I would prefer to figure out the long-form trill in the attachment above and how to find/assign these).

The Custom Line Tool in the Smart Shape Tool has all 3 varieties. The look is not exactly the same, but fairly standard. For a Mac (I use Windows), you Opt+click the Custom Line Tool icon at the bottom of the Smart Shape palette. The 3 options are there in the default file. However, I can't say if they are there for you if you are using the November Font.

Awesome....so frustrating that I was so close, but didn't think to Opt+Click on the Custom Line tool. Gah.
I like the look of the engraver font flat trill, with the accidental being in line with the trill...but I cannot seem to replicate it in my own Engraver font...I'll play around with different fonts and see what comes up.
Thanks, everybody!

One thing you might try: Create a new document with the Wizard that uses the Engraver Font. That document should have these trills. Then, attach them to a measure and copy/paste them into your document. The copied shapes should now appear at the bottom of the list in the Smart Shape selection window.

It's possible to achieve with Maestro by replacing "Left start" with tr plus the smaller #, then fiddling with offsets. Probably not worth it, though.

Actually, I discovered both types (accidental above the tr symbol, and accidental NEXT to the symbol) existed in the Engraver and Maestro fonts. I just didn't look far enough down.
Thanks for all the help, all!
