So, for one of my compositions I have a woodblock playing quintuplets over the bar line, I tried using different time signature like a a 8/4 bar with an added expression tool barline but I doesn't work with the full score. Can anyone please help me?

"Doesn't work" in what way? You've hit on the solution that generally gets suggested. Placement of that barline is up to you.

One way to do it.
This solution also works across a system break.
