I hadn't intended to flame a Mac vs Win discussion. I was merely pointing out that the ASV issue wasn't caused by a Win machine, but probably from the setup in Preferences, which Mac also has.

Question: are there features in Finale that are Mac only or Win only?

Knowing that an OS upgrade won't break the software seems like a feature to me! :-)

The keyboard remapper on Windows. The Alt+letter scheme to access menus on Windows (benefiting both the typist and the macro writer). TG Tools align/move functions hotkeys on Windows (Alt+keypad*, Alt+keypad+, Alt+keypad-).

I make use of Autohotkey, which is a Windows-only thing. There may be a Mac equivalent that does what Autohotkey does--I don't know.

So, not only would I have to upgrade to the latest Finale, but you're saying I'd have to upgrade my Garritan and Aria too?
Garritan Libraries haven't been updated for years. They are just files, apart from ARIA. There are free updates for the Aria player and plug-ins.
Great to know. Thank you.

Like I said I have no preference. But why would anyone spend twice, even more, for a machine that did nothing better. Perhaps not as well? Once the software is running there seems to be little difference.

We've gotten way off topic here; myself included. Let's call this one, done.
